SCULPSURE WAIST

Description

“SculpSure is a non-invasive body contouring laser treatment that targets and destroys fat cells safely without affecting the skin’s surface,” says Dr. Mohammad Almohideb, MD, MSc, FRCPC, FAAD, the medical director at Q Esthetics Laser Clinic in Toronto. The 1060 nm wavelength of the laser infiltrates deeper in tissues and has particular affinity to fat cells, making it an effective treatment for contouring.

SculpSure uses the laser energy to raise the temperature of fat cells, in order to damage their structural integrity. This is achieved when the delivered energy by the laser causes movement of the molecules in the fat cells, generating heat. A maintained temperature between 42 to 47 degrees is achieved causing loss of the structural integrity of the fat cell membranes.

Ideal Candidate

“SculpSure is great for anyone who is looking to lose fat in localized areas. This treatment provides the best results for patients who live a healthy lifestyle, but who are struggling with losing fat in certain problem areas, despite their diet and exercise efforts,” says Dr. Almohideb.  Because SculpSure destroys and eliminates these fat cells, clients will experience a lasting result.

Also, those who have experienced fluctuation in weight from factors such as childbirth, weight loss and aging skin (resulting in skin laxity), will also benefit greatly from SculpSure. The temperature of the lasers used for treatment can enable contraction and tightening of the skin in addition to the fat cell removal.

In terms of avoidance of treatment, SculpSure sessions are not conducted overlying any large scars. However, in these cases treatment may be adjusted to work around the scar tissue area. As SculpSure is designed to target fat cells in localized areas, it is also not appropriate for whole body weight loss or for trying to remove a substantial amount of fat.

Common Treatment Areas

”This body contouring technology is designed to reduce stubborn fat in problem areas; such as, the abdomen, love handles, arms and thighs,” says Dr. Almohideb.

Before Treatment

Patients should be healthy and hydrated for your treatment, by having a light meal and drinking two to three glasses of water before arriving.  The treatment area should also be clean and free of any obstruction (such as trimming or shaving thicker hair, and cleaning off any creams or lotions) before arriving for your treatment.

Treatment and Recovery Time

SculpSure safely eliminates fat, and destroys targeted fat cells in just 25 minutes per treatment. At least two sessions are recommended for treatment; however, this can vary depending on individual needs.

Over the next three months after treatment, the damaged fat cells are processed and eliminated by the body’s lymphatic system; where they are permanently removed and will not regenerate.

After Care

“You may experience mild swelling or tissue firmness in the treated area. A gentle 5 to 10 minute massage twice daily is beneficial, until tenderness is resolved. One of the best parts about this treatment is that there is no downtime! You can return to your daily routine right away! Eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, and exercise (even light cardio) are ideal in helping the damaged cells move through the lymphatic system; enabling quicker results!” says Dr. Almohideb.

Results

After treatment, optimal results are visible around 12 weeks, and as early as six. Because the damaged fat cells are processed and eliminated through the body’s lymphatic system, the targeted cells during treatment are permanently removed & will not regenerate.

“By maintaining your weight and healthy eating, your body will benefit much more from the treatment, with continued long-term noticeable results!” explains Dr. Almohideb.

Cost

Full treatment protocols vary depending on both the individual’s needs and areas being targeted. Prices can range anywhere from $1,000 to $6,000 CAD depending on the clinic and the number of areas being targeted.
